The Timestamper is responsible for tracking the departure and arrival of transmitted and received Ethernet frames. It uses the output of the PTP Timer by applying a timestamp with as much accuracy as possible. The reference point (the point at which the timestamp is sampled) is the first PCS block of a given Ethernet frame.
