The Layers settings (shown int the following figure) define what device and design objects are displayed in the Device window. You can control the level of detail displayed in the Device window, which is especially useful when the display is overcrowded with information.
Figure 1. Device Window—Layers Settings
Following are the two primary branches:
- Design
- Elements from the design sources, such as cells, nets, and ports that are placed on the device.
- Device
- Resources on the device such as I/O banks, clock regions, and tiles on which design objects can be placed.
Using the Layers settings, you can do the following:
- Use the expand and collapse buttons to expand or collapse the levels of the tree view.
- Click the check box to enable or disable the layer or object for display in the
Device window. A check mark indicates the currently displayed layer. You can display
or hide groups of objects or layers by clicking the category of the layers. Select
individual layers or objects directory to display or hide them.Note: If you cannot see a specific object or layer in the Device window, check the Layers settings to see if the design object or device resource is currently hidden.
Tip: You can use the Shift key to select multiple layers, and use the Space bar
to toggle the selected layers on or off.
