In this system protection use case, the RPU runs a safety application where a certain region of the OCM might be required to be protected and dedicated for use by the RPU. Some peripherals like the UART controller and the QSPI controller might also require protection and be dedicated for use by the RPU.
- RPU generates transactions.
- OCM_XMPU protects the region of the OCM for access only by an RPU by knowing its system management ID (SMID). Other regions of the OCM can be accessed by transactions with other SMIDs.
- The LPD_XPPU and PMC_XPPU allow the RPU SMID to access the UART controller and QSPI controller, respectively.
