The Main GUI Configuration tab provides customization options for transceiver preset selection, direction, master clock source, and number of lanes. The Main GUI tab is shown in the following figure:

Figure 1. Main GUI Configuration Tab
Component Name
The name of the generated IP is set in the Component Name field. The default name is gt_quad_base.
Register Configuration Interface
Select AXI4-Lite or APB3 Interface for registers configuration. Also, enter the frequency of operation of the selected interface. APB3 is a 32-bit data bus addressing whereas AXI4-Lite is an 8-bit byte-based bus. In Versal Adaptive SoC GTY and GTYP Transceivers Architecture Manual (AM002) and Versal Adaptive SoC GTM Transceivers Architecture Manual (AM017). Register Configuration addressing is APB3 based. So, if you use AXI4-Lite, you need to multiply addressing by 4. Based on the register configuration interface selected, the free running clock must drive the apb3clk or s_axi_lite_clk signals.
Transceiver type
Select the type of serial transceiver to configure. Available choices are limited to the transceiver types present within the selected device.
Protocol 0
This option is enabled by default as four-lane duplex design. Based on the number of unused lanes, the rest of the protocol options (1, 2, 3, and so on.) are enabled. Two protocol options are shown in the following figure. Both the protocol options are duplex and two lanes each are programmed.
Figure 2. Multi-Protocol Programming Option
When protocol option 1 is enabled, protocol option 0 configurations are grayed out. You need to configure protocol options sequentially. In case, if you would like to modify protocol option 0 after enabling protocol option 1, you need to disable protocol option 1 and customize protocol option 0.
Preset
Standard protocol presets are supported. Selecting a preset will load corresponding transceiver settings in Sub GUI. Multi-line rate presets can be loaded in this Preset window. It will populate multiple single line rate presets in the corresponding Sub GUI. For example, multi-line rate presets with the suffix MLR are added in preset lists.
GT Direction
Select GT direction options given in the drop-down menu.
TX RX Master Clock Source
Select desired master clock source options given in the drop- down menu.
Number of Lanes
Select the number of lanes. Maximum 4 lanes are supported as it is a wrapper of a GT Quad primitive.
Note: In the case of GTME5 configurations requiring user data widths of 320/512, when the line rate is greater than 56 Gbps, the number of lanes added on the quad is treated as the number of active PCS channels because both the PCS lanes are used. In a given GTME5 Dual, only 1 active PMA lane is possible for these rates. Refer to the configuration protocol GUI option for active PMA lane selection.
Transceiver Configuration Protocol 0
This option opens a pop-up Sub GUI in which transceiver transmitter and receiver settings can be configured.
Lane Selection
Select physical lane mapping based on the Number of Lanes value.
