The HBM is ECC protected. As ECC scrubbing and ECC correction are part of the HBM hardware, it is your responsibility to configure the HBM hardware to use these features. Detailed descriptions of these mechanisms are available in AXI High Bandwidth Controller LogiCORE IP Product Guide (PG276).
The software API provides a function to rewrite the RAM contents in order to recover from ECC double-bit errors.
