The ILKNF can operate as a single 600 Gb/s or 300 Gb/s Interlaken port, handling the Protocol Layer and Framing Layer of the Interlaken protocol. Numerous other rates are supported through choice of lane rate and lane count. Interlaken lanes can run with or without FEC. Furthermore, the ILKNF can be configured to run in FEC-only mode, handling no Interlaken functions, rather supporting up to six ports of 100 Gb/s FEC or up to 12 ports of 50 Gb/s FEC.
