The AESAVS requires the following tests:

  • Known Answer Test (KAT)
  • Multi-block Message Test (MMT)
  • Monte Carlo Test (MCT)

There are several configuration options available for AESAVS, which are determined by the features supported by the implementation under test (IUT). These include mode of operation and key length. The configurations used for the HSC Subsystem are:

  • ECB Encryption with 128-bit keys
  • ECB Encryption with 256-bit keys
Note: Decryption is not required as the GCM algorithm does not use AES decryption. However, the HSC GCM/XPN decryption path does use AES Encryption, and is thus tested in the same way as the GCM/XPN encryption path.
