Fail to Start sfptpd with NTP

If sfptpd fails to start in the NTP fallback mode and messages similar to the following are observed in the sfptpd messsage_log or stats_log:

warning: ntpclient: mode6: failed to set NTP daemon system flags, Permission denied
error: ntp: failed to disable NTP clock control
  1. Check the authentication integer value and string value are consistent in all files.
  2. Try with maximum 20 ASCII character string (and no special characters).
  3. Add the following to the /etc/ntp.conf file:
    enable mode7
    (There is no space between mode and 7.)
  4. Restart the NTP service.
