For higher power efficiency, AMD recommends using full switched mode power supply solutions. The RFSoC range does not require inefficient supply solutions based on low dropout (LDO) assuming the switched mode regulators can meet the ripple requirements. Refer to power solution reference designs on the ZCU216 and ZCU208 for examples of full switched mode regulator solutions that do not impact the SFDR of the data converters and offer superior power efficiency over traditional LDO based implementations.
